Nissan themselves are saying it's FWD, so there's that...

And yet they also go on about how they had to design a special driveshaft system to get power to the rear wheels.

From reading the RACER write up it sounds like they may not run that system at every event, if the track doesn't have areas where the fronts would be overpowered they can pull the whole thing out and save lots of weight. Hence it's a primarily FWD car.

The article/I could be wrong though

My logic is this - part time AWD is still AWD. It can have a front or rear bias, but it is still an AWD system. My problem with all the "NISSAN HAS A 1250HP FWD RACER!!!!!" headlines and bitch posts is that the accurate statement is "NISSAN HAS A 500HP ENGINE POWERING THE FRONTS AND 750 HP OF ELECTRIC MOTOR FOR THE REAR WHEELS!!!!" To my knowledge, it can NOT send all 1250 hp to the fronts. It DOES send the power from the front mounted engine to the front wheels only. That is a correct statement. But if people are going to have reactions to the news, then they need to actually know what's going on first.
